Talha Kılıç opens ‘Tragedyalar’ exhibition at SANKO Sanat Galerisi
Painter Talha Kılıç has opened a solo exhibition titled ‘Tragedyalar’ at the SANKO Sanat Galerisi. The collection features 13 oil paintings that interpret the figurative painting tradition through a contemporary lens.
Kılıç’s work utilizes an expressionist color palette, characterized by bright and contrasting colors, layered paint, and distinct brushstrokes. His pieces incorporate symbolic motifs such as human figures, nature, animals, birds, the sun, the moon, and clown-like figures to explore themes of memory, identity, transformation, and fragility. The artist aims to create a personal visual language by blending reality with dreamlike and sometimes uncanny atmospheres.
The exhibition opening included remarks from various officials and artists, including Mehmet Aykanat, Sait Gizir, Özer Çağlar, and Cengiz Halil Çiçek. Kılıç, a graduate of Hatay Mustafa Kemal University, is currently pursuing graduate studies at Gaziantep University. The exhibition will remain open to the public until October 9, 2026.
