Taliban commander executes man in public in Herat
A video circulating online depicts a Taliban police commander and his associates beating and executing a man in the middle of a street in Herat Province, Afghanistan.
The victim, identified as Abdul Qadir Pahlavanzadeh, was shown being restrained and beaten before an individual armed with a Kalashnikov opened fire, killing him in public. Following the release of the footage, local Taliban administration attempted to distance itself from the incident, suggesting the act was driven by personal motives rather than official policy.
Contradicting these claims, the victim's father stated that there was no prior enmity and characterized the Taliban's explanations regarding the incident as baseless.
