Talking Heads announce first authorized band book

The band Talking Heads has announced 'Talking Heads: New Feeling,' a 400-page, large-format coffee-table book scheduled for release on May 18 via Abrams Books. The project is a collaboration between all four members: David Byrne, Chris Frantz, Jerry Harrison, and Tina Weymouth.

Scheduled to arrive during the 50th anniversary year of their debut album, 'Talking Heads: 77,' the book will feature hundreds of images, annotated concert playlists, and essays from each band member. The publication also includes contributions from figures such as Lorde, Debbie Harry, Karl Ove Knausgaard, and Jeff Bridges.

Archival materials included in the volume consist of original handwritten lyrics for songs such as ‘Psycho Killer’ and ‘Life During Wartime,’ as well as original album sketches and private photographs. The book also incorporates behind-the-scenes imagery from the 1984 concert film 'Stop Making Sense.'
