Talking Heads announce Super Deluxe reissue of ‘Fear of Music’

Talking Heads have announced a Super Deluxe Edition reissue of their 1979 album, ‘Fear of Music’, scheduled for worldwide release on November 13. The announcement was made via a dedicated channel on the satellite radio service SiriusXM.

The collection will be available in several formats, including a 3CD/Blu-ray set and a 6-LP vinyl edition. The reissue features a 2026 remaster of the original album, along with various rarities such as alternate versions of ‘Life During Wartime’, ‘Cities’, and ‘Drugs’.

Extensive live material is included, featuring two complete concerts from the 1979 tour: one from the Berklee Performance Center in Boston and another from the Capitol Theatre in New Jersey. Most of these live recordings are previously unreleased. The Blu-ray component offers new Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound mixes, as well as rare footage of the band performing on the BBC music program ‘Old Grey Whistle Test’.

Physical editions will include a 60-page hardcover book featuring liner notes by Will Hermes. The Japanese edition will feature specific local benefits, including translated liner notes and a bonus poster.
