Talleres retains Giovanni Baroni for Superclásico against Belgrano

Talleres has decided to retain 17-year-old midfielder Giovanni Baroni for the upcoming Superclásico against Belgrano on October 4, despite his call-up to the Argentina U-17 national team.

Baroni was originally selected by Diego Placente to participate in the Vertex Cup in London from October 1 to 7. However, because the tournament is a friendly competition and not part of the official FIFA international calendar, Talleres management determined they were not obligated to release him.

The decision provides a boost to manager Omar De Felippe, as the club faces several absences for the derby. Alexandro Maidana has been called up to the Paraguay national team, and Agustín Álvarez Martínez is facing a disciplinary suspension following a red card against Instituto. Baroni is viewed as a key tactical alternative for playmaking, particularly if Franco Cristaldo is unable to maintain his starting role.
