Tallinn launches new tram lines linking city centre, airport and Ülemiste district
On 1 August, Tallinn’s public transport network undergoes its biggest overhaul in years, with simultaneous changes to dozens of bus lines, renumbering and new routes, and the restoration of tram service to the airport. Two tram lines, T2 from Kopli and T4 from Tondi, now run every 10 minutes to the airport, using a newly completed tram tunnel under the Ülemiste Linda terminal. The upgrade includes new signage at over 500 bus stops and new line maps at about 1 000 stops, and sets the stage for future tram extensions to Lasnamäe and Haabersti.
