Tam Anh General Hospital treats woman with 500 ml abdominal hemorrhage
A woman was treated at Tam Anh General Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City after discovering 500 ml of blood in her abdomen, which she initially mistook for symptoms of heavy menstruation.
Medical examinations via MRI revealed endometriosis within the uterus, a large cystic mass in the left pelvic region, and significant fluid in the abdominal cavity. During surgery, doctors identified a complex vascular mass measuring 4 x 4 x 15 cm that was actively bleeding. To control the hemorrhage, the surgical team performed a total hysterectomy and removed the left genital vascular mass. The patient required a 900 ml blood transfusion following the procedure and is currently recovering.
