Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry revenue rises to £17.9m

Combined revenue from the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry reached £17.9 million in the 12 months ending August, an increase of £1.32 million compared to the previous year. This growth follows toll increases implemented in May 2025, despite a slight decrease in total vehicle movements, which fell from 8.29 million to 8.24 million.

Officials are currently reviewing toll concessions, which may cost up to £500,000 annually, to protect the long-term finances of the crossings. However, reducing bus concessions could lead to the cancellation of certain bus routes, particularly in areas with limited public transport. A follow-up report regarding these concessions is expected in December to inform the 2027/28 budget-setting process.
