Tamaulipas achieves third-highest progress in Mexico's housing program

Tamaulipas has become the third state in Mexico with the highest progress in the 'Programa de Vivienda para el Bienestar'. During an event in Matamoros, Infonavit Director General Octavio Romero Oropeza and Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya delivered 160 homes in the Las Arecas development.

In Tamaulipas, the six-year construction goal has increased from 29,000 to 60,000 homes, representing an investment of over 37.6 billion pesos. Currently, the state has reached 72% of its goal, with 43,000 homes contracted for construction. The governor noted that the construction of 84,000 homes aims to reduce the state's housing deficit by up to 60%.

Nationally, the Infonavit program has contracted 471 housing complexes totaling 547,000 homes, reaching 45% of its goal. Additionally, the 'Infonavit Solución Integral' program has restructured 4,856,000 unpayable credits across the country, including 288,000 for families in Tamaulipas. The state is also expected to receive 140,000 free mortgage releases.
