Tamaulipas advances digital civil registry and notarial reforms

The Tamaulipas civil registry announced a new online system that will let residents request corrections to birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates without traveling to the state capital. Registrar Omar Habid Masso Quintana said the digital platform will help citizens avoid delays and extra costs when updating documents needed for CURP, passports, voter IDs and apostilles.

In a separate initiative, notaries from across Mexico gathered in Reynosa for the fourth session of the National Notarial Council. Led by council president Ricardo Vargas Navarro and local notary Raúl Enrique Padilla García, the group pledged continued cooperation with the Tamaulipas Congress to harmonise the National Code of Civil and Family Procedures, a move intended to make the justice system more agile, accessible and legally certain.

Both efforts aim to streamline administrative and legal services for the state’s population, reducing travel time and strengthening legal certainty.
