Tamaulipas agencies distribute free hearing aids to residents
Health organizations and government agencies in Tamaulipas, Mexico, have conducted campaigns to distribute free hearing aids to low-income residents.
In Ciudad Victoria, the Sistema para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (DIF) of Tamaulipas partnered with the U.S.-based nonprofit Hearing Aids for Latin America. Between October 6 and 8, 2026, the collaboration provided 265 personalized hearing devices to beneficiaries from municipalities including González, Güémez, Casas, El Mante, Hidalgo, Abasolo, and Victoria. Medical specialists from Colorado and Texas, United States, supervised the process and conducted audiometry studies to ensure proper device fitting.
In Reynosa, the municipal government and DIF Reynosa collaborated with Fundación MVS Radio and S-Mart supermarkets for the ‘Ponte Oreja’ campaign. This initiative delivered hearing aids to 173 beneficiaries, with a specific focus on children to support language development and social integration, as well as providing support to adults.
