Tamaulipas and Spain Forge Investment and Technology Partnership

Secretary of Economy of the Mexican state of Tamaulipas, Ninfa Cantú Deándar, held a meeting in Mexico City with the Spanish ambassador to Mexico, Juan Duarte Cuadrado, under the Modernized Global Agreement between Mexico and the European Union. The discussion focused on expanding economic, commercial and technological cooperation between Tamaulipas and Spain.

Both parties identified opportunities in key sectors such as agro‑industry and agro‑food, automotive, electric‑electronic, information‑technology, water‑resource management, sustainability, circular economy and innovation transfer. They agreed to build a joint agenda to attract investment, promote trade and support collaborations among businesses, universities and research centres, with a follow‑up visit by the ambassador planned.

The meeting was attended by Tamaulipas officials including subsecretary of Investment Anabell Flores Garza, subsecretary of Sustainable Competitiveness and Foreign Trade Luis Armando Cantú, planning director Víctor Landa Ríos and government liaison Iris Franciolli, reflecting the governor Américo Villarreal Anaya’s vision of shared prosperity through international cooperation.
