Mexico reports hospital renovations and critical social welfare cases
In Guerrero, ISSSTE Director Martí Batres Guadarrama announced a 440 million peso investment for the integral rehabilitation of the Chilpancingo de los Bravo Clinic Hospital. The project, which is 32% complete, includes a new building with 32 specialized and family medicine consultation rooms, expanded surgical units, and an emergency area increasing capacity from 10 to 36 beds.
In Tamaulipas, medical and social services are responding to several critical incidents. An 11-year-old girl in Matamoros underwent a legal pregnancy termination at an IMSS hospital after authorities determined the five-month gestation resulted from sexual abuse. The minor is currently under the protection and custody of the DIF while the Prosecutor's Office investigates the assault.
Other reported incidents in the region include a fatal accident in Tampico involving a Navy member, an elderly woman in Matamoros reportedly facing abuse, and a baby in Veracruz placed under DIF protection due to parental neglect. Additionally, a woman in Chimalhuacán, Edomex, has filed a complaint after being allegedly dispossessed of her home by a former family acquaintance.
