Tamaulipas health authorities conduct emergency aeromedical transfers
The Tamaulipas health system has successfully executed several high-priority aeromedical transfers to provide specialized care. In one instance, a 10-year-old girl with spinal injuries was transported via helicopter from Matamoros to the Hospital Regional de Alta Especialidad in Ciudad Victoria. In another operation, a four-day-old infant from Mante was airlifted to the Hospital Infantil in Ciudad Victoria to treat a pulmonary condition.
These emergency mobilizations were coordinated by the Centro Regulador de Urgencias Médicas (CRUM) and the State Aerial Services. The medical teams involved included specialists in aeromedicine and intensive care to ensure patient stability during transit.
Additionally, the State Health Security Committee held a session in Ciudad Victoria to strengthen inter-institutional coordination. The meeting focused on epidemiological risks, including measles prevention, extreme weather impacts, and the state's progress toward being certified free of indigenous malaria.
