Tamaulipas authorities investigate child's death involving security helicopter
The Tamaulipas Attorney General's Office is investigating the death of seven-year-old Aranza Adailini, who was killed by a projectile during violent events in Matamoros on October 29. Preliminary findings from Prosecutor Eduardo Govea Orozco indicate that the projectiles involved may have originated from a State Security Public helicopter.
The victim's mother, who was also wounded in the leg, reported seeing a helicopter overflying the area shortly before the incident. Investigators are currently analyzing ballistic evidence, including a recovered 7.62 caliber projectile, and reviewing flight logs from security operations conducted during the arrest of a criminal leader in the region.
Humberto Prieto Herrera, President of the Governing Board of the Tamaulipas Congress, stated that the State Secretary of Public Security may be summoned to testify before the legislature to provide an official explanation for the incident.
