Tamaulipas authorities investigate State Guard for alleged assault

The Tamaulipas Attorney General's Office has opened an investigation into allegations of abuse of authority and physical assault involving members of the State Guard in El Mante.

A 33-year-old worker, identified as Erick Isidro “R”, reported being pursued by a patrol car before being pushed and beaten until losing consciousness. The victim was hospitalized with a traumatic brain injury and facial lacerations. While initial reports suggested the injuries resulted from a traffic accident, the victim and his family clarified that the injuries were caused by the assault. The case has also been reported to the Internal Affairs division of the Tamaulipas Secretariat of Public Security.
