Tamaulipas authorities repair sinkholes and water infrastructure
Authorities in Tamaulipas are conducting extensive repairs to water and sanitary infrastructure to address sinkholes and drainage issues. In the southern region, COMAPA Sur reports that 606 sinkholes have been recorded in Tampico and Ciudad Madero since the start of the current administration. To date, 89% of these incidents have been repaired, though new sinkholes continue to be identified.
In Ciudad Madero, officials are supervising repairs at the intersection of Adolfo López Mateos Boulevard and Tamaulipas Avenue following a sinkhole caused by a collapsed four-inch water line. This incident also damaged drainage lines. Authorities expect paving to be completed by the weekend if weather conditions remain favorable.
In El Mante, the municipal government and COMAPA have begun rehabilitating the sanitary drainage line on Alejandro Prieto Street. This project aims to provide a definitive solution to long-standing sanitary network issues in the sector.
