Tamaulipas beauty queen Daniela Rueda demands justice for teen femicide

Daniela Rueda, the current Mexicana Universal Tamaulipas 2025 title‑holder, has spoken out about the murder of 14‑year‑old Dafne Zapata Quintos, whose body was found at a camp in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas. Rueda said the case "conmocionó a todo el Estado" and urged authorities to pursue the investigation to its fullest conclusion, warning that femicide continues to claim victims across Mexico.

Rueda is also preparing to represent Tamaulipas at the national Mexicana Universal 2026 competition in Guadalajara, Jalisco, from 30 July to 6 August. She described the pageant as a platform that develops emotional, intellectual and leadership skills, and emphasized the honor of carrying her state’s name on a national stage.

In both interviews, Rueda linked her public role to broader social concerns, stating, "Es un caso que nos conmociona a todos" and calling for stronger preventative actions and justice for victims of gender‑based violence.
