Tamaulipas boosts health and emergency services ahead of 2026 World Cup

The health authorities in Tamaulipas have intensified public‑health measures for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The State Epidemiology Directorate, led by Julita Portilla Sosa, has overseen vaccination campaigns (MMR and Tdpa) at airports, border crossings, bus stations and tourist sites, alongside water quality monitoring, sanitary inspections and simulated response drills. Officials urge residents and visitors to follow official health advisories.

In parallel, the state government has expanded its emergency‑medical system by creating five new Regional Emergency Medical Bases (CRUM) and hiring 50 additional paramedics, nurses and physicians. The new bases in Victoria, Tampico and other municipalities aim to provide advanced medical care on‑scene, reducing reliance on hospital transport. The initiative is coordinated with civil‑protection agencies and the 911 network.
