Tamaulipas completes bovine tuberculosis sweeps in three municipalities
The Tamaulipas Secretariat of Rural Development, Fishing, and Aquaculture has concluded bovine tuberculosis sweeping operations in the municipalities of Bustamante, Jaumave, and Palmillas. These actions were part of the state's livestock surveillance and sanitary programs.
A total of 11,347 cattle diagnoses were performed during the sessions: 2,941 in Bustamante, 6,129 in Jaumave, and 2,277 in Palmillas. The initiative aims to strengthen animal health and prevent diseases that could impact livestock production.
In addition to tuberculosis monitoring, authorities distributed informative materials and tools to help producers prevent and manage Cattle Screwworm. The program was supported by local municipal presidents and state livestock development officials to protect the region's livestock heritage.
