Tamaulipas Congress President addresses productivity and vendor allegations
Humberto Prieto Herrera, president of the Government Board for the Tamaulipas Congress, is awaiting new productivity measurements from INEGI. During his first year of the 66th Legislature, the Tamaulipas Congress was ranked as the fourth most productive in Mexico.
Prieto Herrera also addressed allegations regarding payments made to a provider purportedly linked to organized crime. He denied responsibility for these transactions, stating they occurred during the previous legislature before he assumed his current leadership role. He noted that the Congress does not possess data to identify the owners of every contracted company but maintained that no providers under his leadership have been linked to criminal activity.
Additionally, Prieto Herrera announced that the Congress will hold its first-ever legislative report on Monday, October 26. This session aims to provide transparency regarding legislative activities and budget execution to the citizens of Tamaulipas.
