Tamaulipas Congress reviews municipal cadastral value proposals
The Tamaulipas State Congress has begun reviewing municipal revenue laws and cadastral value tables for the 2027 fiscal year. Legislative commissions will analyze proposals from 43 municipalities to determine the technical and legal viability of requested adjustments.
While 39 municipalities submitted no changes, four municipalities have proposed increases to their cadastral values: Reynosa and Gustavo Díaz Ordaz have proposed 10% increases, while Nuevo Laredo and Matamoros have proposed 5% adjustments. Representatives from these four municipalities will be summoned to explain their justifications.
Separately, the Tamaulipas Secretary of Finance noted that administrative deadlines and bidding processes are delaying several municipal infrastructure requests—including paving, drainage, and equipment—until the next fiscal year. Legislators have also emphasized that municipalities should prioritize austerity and address pending audit observations before requesting increased resource allocations.
