Tamaulipas DIF Brings Integrated Health Services to San Fernando Families

Hundreds of families in the Loma Alta neighborhood of San Fernando, Tamaulipas, received comprehensive health care through the "Corredor de la Salud" initiative of the Lazos del Bienestar program. The outreach provided general medical consultations, nutrition and dental care, women’s health services, prescription glasses, hearing aids, iBreast exams, pharmacy assistance, enrollment in IMSS Bienestar, and a vaccination module.

Patricia Lara Ayala, director general of the Sistema DIF Tamaulipas, toured the service stations to verify assistance and engage directly with residents. The event also featured a community‑management space where local needs were heard, and members of the Círculo Violeta displayed self‑made products such as plaster figures, jewelry and pastries, generating supplemental income. Participating agencies included the state secretariats of Health, Education and General Government, IMSS Bienestar and the Patrimonio de la Beneficencia Pública. The program operates in 12 zones across ten priority municipalities, aiming to reduce violence and social marginalisation by building community networks and peace spaces.
