Tamaulipas drives economic growth through entrepreneurship and infrastructure

The state of Tamaulipas is experiencing significant economic activity driven by female entrepreneurship and major infrastructure projects in Altamira.

In the first half of 2025, Fondo Tamaulipas authorized 1,785 financings totaling over 33.7 million pesos. Women were the primary beneficiaries, receiving 19.749 million pesos, which represents 58.6% of the credit distribution and 75.5% of the total number of loans granted. Various programs, including Microcrédito and Microemprendedor, have supported thousands of women, many of whom are heads of households. Additionally, the 'Hecho en Tamaulipas' program provides training and commercial advisory services to help these businesses formalize and expand.

In Altamira, two major developments are underway. A new 42-story, 5-star Marriott hotel is scheduled to begin construction on August 13, aiming to establish the area as a hub for business tourism. Furthermore, the Centro Integral Multidisciplinario de Altamira (CIMA) is set to open on September 21. With an investment exceeding 512 million pesos, this multidisciplinary center will integrate medical, educational, and social development services.
