Tamaulipas implements educational and social welfare initiatives

The Tamaulipas state government is launching several initiatives focused on education, student welfare, and social rights. The Secretariat of Education (SET) has introduced the “Aventuras en Papel” project to improve literacy skills among primary school students in grades one through three. Additionally, the SET is leading a national effort to fill teaching vacancies, reporting that they have addressed over 89 percent of the backlog through an inter-institutional task force.

To support student mental health, the Secretariats of Education and Social Welfare have inaugurated School Intervention Days at the Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Tamaulipas (COBAT). This program aims to provide youth with emotional health tools and risk prevention strategies, complementing the federal “El ABC de las emociones” strategy.

In the social sector, the Secretariat of Women has announced the first State Meeting, “Unidas por la Igualdad, Gobierno y Sociedad Civil,” scheduled for November 6, 2026. The event seeks to foster collaboration between the government and civil society to promote women's rights and gender perspectives. Meanwhile, the Secretariat of Labor and Social Welfare is conducting training in Reynosa regarding occupational safety and hygiene standards to prevent workplace accidents.
