Tamaulipas establishes Strategic Energy Cluster to boost regional investment
The Tamaulipas Secretariat of Energy Development (SEDENER) has launched the Tamaulipas Strategic Energy Cluster in Tampico. The initiative aims to strengthen the state's energy sector through economic integration, internal capacity building, and innovation to attract higher-quality investments.
The cluster brings together energy project operators, local suppliers, service providers, and academic and research institutions. Participating sectors include hydrocarbons, petroleum, electricity, renewable energy, and bioenergy.
Walter Julián Ángel Jiménez, Secretary of Energy Development, stated that these mechanisms allow for the identification of local supply capabilities, ensuring that local companies are positioned to participate in both current and federally approved energy projects within the state. Participating companies include New Fortress Energy and Woodside Energy.
