Tamaulipas fishermen warned of Bienpesca program fraud
Fishermen in Tamaulipas, Mexico, have been issued a warning regarding fraudulent activities involving the Bienpesca program. Unauthorized individuals are reportedly attempting to obtain personal information, such as the CURP, by promising to expedite procedures, facilitate registrations, or guarantee continued participation in the program's registry.
Authorities clarify that these scams are being carried out by third parties using the program's name and do not reflect irregularities within the program itself. To avoid falling victim to these practices, fishermen are advised not to provide personal documents to intermediaries and to conduct all inquiries or procedures directly through the local or state offices of the National Commission of Aquaculture and Fisheries (Conapesca).
