Tamaulipas former economic development head accused of corruption
Carlos Alberto García González, the former head of Economic Development for the state of Tamaulipas, is facing allegations of corruption and mismanagement following his tenure during the 2016–2022 administration. Current official Ninfa Cantú Deándar has reported a 32 million peso loss due to anomalies in professional service contracts that lacked evidence of execution.
Further irregularities were identified within the Fondo Tamaulipas, including credits lacking legal backing and an overdue portfolio exceeding 100 million pesos. The allegations also include excessive spending on international travel, such as an official trip to Italy, and the direct adjudication of contracts to a law firm for promotional and representation services, bypassing required public bidding processes.
