Tamaulipas Forms Health Quality Committee, Tightens Harassment Rules

The State Health Quality Committee (CECAS) was installed in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, with Secretary of Health Ricardo Gerardo Guerrero Morales and health secretary Ángel Delfino Gómez Lizárraga presiding. The committee will coordinate quality governance, standardize clinical criteria, monitor infections, and promote a "Decálogo de Derechos y Obligaciones de Pacientes y Profesionales de la Salud" to ensure dignified, safe patient care.

The Permanent Deputation of the Tamaulipas Congress approved a proposal urging all health institutions in the state—including those linked to the Secretariat of National Defense, the Navy, Pemex and the state health secretariat—to strengthen and continuously disseminate protocols that prevent and sanction sexual harassment in hospitals. Deputy Lucero Deosdady Martínez López emphasized the need for safe environments for both medical staff and patients, calling for robust prevention, reporting, and support mechanisms.
