Ciudad Victoria prioritizes road paving through budget reallocation

The Ciudad Victoria municipal government is reallocating funds to prioritize road paving and pothole repair. Mayor Eduardo Gattás Báez announced that the administration is cutting budgets in other areas to address the deteriorating state of local streets following a nearly 8 million peso reduction in municipal resources.

Currently, three crews are working with hot mix asphalt on both main avenues and secondary roads. The program is expanding into residential neighborhoods and housing developments following citizen requests. The administration aims to show significant progress in road recovery by December. In addition to paving, the city is performing urban maintenance, including cleaning and painting curbs to improve the city's image.
