Tamaulipas Health Secretary Affirms Commitment to Legislative Transparency

Adriana Marcela Hernández Campos, the secretary of health for the Mexican state of Tamaulipas, told reporters that her department will fully cooperate with the state Congress’s request for detailed information on its programs, actions and results. She highlighted that accountability and transparency are permanent obligations of the secretariat and welcomed any mechanism that strengthens public information. Hernández Campos emphasized that the ministry maintains ongoing communication with citizens through reports, public activities and media outreach, and pledged to respond promptly to any legitimate information request from the authorities.

The statements came after legislators raised a point of order seeking comprehensive data from various state agencies, including the health secretariat. Hernández Campos rejected the notion that such legislative exhortations are unnecessary, asserting that all actions that promote clarity and transparency are welcome.
