Tamaulipas hosts SOLARE 2026 fashion show for visually impaired entrepreneurs

The Sistema DIF Tamaulipas organized the SOLARE 2026 fashion show in Ciudad Victoria to promote inclusion and economic autonomy for individuals with visual disabilities. Students from the Escuela Camino de Luz participated in the event, showcasing artisanal handbag brands created using crochet and macramé techniques.

Five students—Itzel Anahí Linares Alverar, Gilberto Manzano Martínez, Diana Leos Villasana, Betsaida Gabriela de los Reyes Lara, and Perla Sarahí Cuéllar de la Cruz—presented their individual designs on the runway. The initiative aims to transform productive skills into viable business projects.

The products are currently available for sale at several locations in Ciudad Victoria, including the Escuela Camino de Luz, Casa Colibrí, and Torre Bicentenario, as well as a tourism secretariat point in Hidalgo. Distribution has also expanded to Nuevo León and the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA).
