Tamaulipas implements dual nationality program for children of migrants

The Tamaulipas Institute for Migrants is implementing a dual nationality program designed to benefit children and adolescents born in the United States to Tamaulipecan parents. The initiative, promoted by Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya, aims to assist minors who previously could not obtain Mexican birth certificates due to migratory status.

Obtaining Mexican nationality allows these individuals to access various rights and benefits within Mexico, including educational programs, scholarships, and easier integration into the country's social and administrative systems. Local deputy Alberto Moctezuma Castillo praised the work of the Institute, led by Juan José Rodríguez Alvarado, noting that the program strengthens identity ties between Tamaulipas and its diaspora.
