Tamaulipas implements technical support for citrus producers
The Government of Tamaulipas is implementing technical programs to modernize the citrus sector and improve agricultural sustainability in the state. Through the S107 program, officials held conferences in Hidalgo to educate producers on soil analysis and regeneration, emphasizing the importance of understanding physical and chemical soil conditions to enhance crop development.
Additionally, under the U104 program, the state is providing economic subsidies to small-scale citrus producers in municipalities such as Padilla. These funds are directed toward the installation of technical irrigation systems, aiming to replace traditional flood irrigation with more efficient methods to optimize water usage.
Agricultural extension efforts in the region have reportedly covered over 19,000 hectares across various productive chains, including citrus, corn, and sugar cane, benefiting thousands of producers through technical advisory services.
