Tamaulipas Judiciary implements youth crime prevention program
The Tamaulipas Judiciary has expanded its crime prevention strategy targeting youth through the 'Decide tu futuro' program. Led by the Supremo Tribunal de Justicia, the initiative uses conferences such as 'Tu futuro, tus decisiones' to engage directly with high school students in Ciudad Victoria.
To date, over 1,500 students have participated in these sessions. The program aims to educate adolescents on the legal, social, and family consequences of various actions, including social media-related offenses, failure to provide alimony, and the loss of parental rights.
Beyond legal education, the Judiciary is emphasizing the emotional and economic exhaustion caused by litigation. As an alternative to traditional trials, the institution is strengthening dispute resolution mechanisms and increasing the number of facilitators available to help citizens reach legal agreements.
