Tamaulipas expands hospital network under Governor Villarreal

Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya's administration is consolidating the state’s hospital network, upgrading infrastructure and reopening facilities in Matamoros and Tampico, with the new General Hospital in Ciudad Madero slated to begin operations soon.

The effort is financed with combined federal and state resources and is intended to improve health services for Tamaulipas residents, reducing the need to travel outside the state for specialized care and providing modern, well‑equipped hospitals.
