Tamaulipas launches Hecho en Tamaulipas program for SMEs

The Tamaulipas Ministry of Economy has highlighted the benefits of the ‘Hecho en Tamaulipas’ program, designed to support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) within the state.

Mariana Álvarez Quero, the Undersecretary for Small and Medium Enterprises, stated that the initiative provides essential tools such as specialized training, business advisory services, and commercial networking. The program aims to help entrepreneurs formalize their businesses, strengthen product competitiveness, and expand market opportunities.

Key services include guidance for trademark registration through the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), assistance in obtaining GS1 barcodes, and connections with specialized laboratories for product development. Additionally, the program facilitates participation in trade fairs, business meetings, and commercial exhibitions to link local producers with commercial chains, public institutions, and business organizations. The program also features the ‘Hecho en Tamaulipas’ distinction to bolster local product identity and consumer trust.
