Tamaulipas legislators address community needs and public safety

In Tamaulipas, local legislators are addressing community needs and public safety concerns through direct engagement and new policy proposals.

Deputy Magaly Deandar has been conducting walking tours through various neighborhoods in Reynosa. These visits aim to listen to the requests of residents, including business owners, youth, and the elderly, to facilitate management of local needs through the State Congress.

Meanwhile, Deputy Mercedes del Carmen “Paloma” Guillén Vicente announced an initiative to be presented to the Tamaulipas Congress to address incidents of vigilante justice. This follows an assault on a woman in Tampico by merchants. Guillén Vicente intends to propose a comprehensive approach involving mediation programs, improved prevention protocols, and clearer roles for municipal governments, the Prosecutor's Office, and the Judiciary to prevent citizens from taking the law into their own hands.
