Tamaulipas Migrant Institute Rolls Out Family Support Programs in El Mante

On July 24, 2026, the Instituto Tamaulipeco para los Migrantes (ITM) conducted a outreach tour in the El Mante region of Tamaulipas, Mexico. Represented by ITM director‑general Juan José Rodríguez Alvarado and regional delegate José Reyes Guevara Servín, the team visited the communities of El Abra, Ejido Celaya, Los Aztecas, Nueva Apolonia and nearby settlements.

During meetings with ejido authorities and local families, ITM promoted several services: a Dual Nationality program for children born in the United States to Tamaulipas parents, assistance in obtaining U.S. passports, a visa‑reunification scheme for seniors who have been separated from relatives for over ten years, and counseling to help migrants claim pensions and labor‑rights benefits earned while working in the United States. The institute also offered guidance on locating relatives detained in the U.S. and in repatriation processes.

The outreach resulted in ejido committees agreeing to act as community liaisons for ITM, aiming to broaden awareness of the programs and increase the number of families that can benefit from the services.
