Tamaulipas migrants remain on alert amid ongoing ICE operations
Migrants in Tamaulipas remain on high alert due to ongoing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations. Juan José Rodríguez Alvarado, director of the Tamaulipas Institute for Migrants, warned that while there is a perception that large-scale operations have decreased, enforcement actions have not ceased.
Rodríguez Alvarado noted that raids continue in vulnerable locations, including workplaces and near supermarkets. He emphasized the urgent need for clear and timely information regarding U.S. immigration measures to reduce uncertainty for both migrants in the United States and their families in Tamaulipas.
In other regional developments, the Tamaulipas government has formalized an agreement with the Regional Livestock Union to invest 21 million pesos in sanitary campaigns to control bovine tuberculosis and brucellosis. Additionally, Senator Olga Sosa Ruiz highlighted the strategic importance of the Trion energy project, a partnership between Woodside Energy and Pemex, for the economic development of the state.
