Tamaulipas municipalities repair collapsed drainage pipe and upgrade water networks

Heavy rains triggered the collapse of a sanitary drainage pipe on Avenida Central in Ciudad Victoria, causing part of the asphalt roadway to give way and disrupting traffic. Municipal authorities, led by Mayor Eduardo Gattás Báez, began replacing the damaged pipe with a larger‑capacity conduit to improve wastewater flow and reduce the risk of future failures during the rainy season.

Meanwhile, COMAPA Sur has been modernising the water‑supply and sewer infrastructure in Tampico and Ciudad Madero. In the first four months of the year, more than 5,000 metres of aging pipelines were replaced, benefitting thousands of residents by enhancing service reliability and lowering the likelihood of leaks or collapses.
