Tamaulipas reinforces IPSSET pension controls to prevent fraud

The Tamaulipas government has launched the ‘Revisión de Sobrevivencia 2026’ to prevent pension fraud and ensure state resources reach legitimate beneficiaries. This mandatory procedure, managed by IPSSET, aims to verify that retirees and pensioners are still living and legally entitled to their monthly payments.

Luisa Eugenia Manautou Galván, Secretary of Administration, stated that the measure follows the detection of an individual in Tampico who continued to collect a pension after their mother’s death, leading to an arrest. The verification process will take place throughout September and October across various municipalities, including Ciudad Victoria, Reynosa, Matamoros, and Nuevo Laredo, to close loopholes for irregular payments.
