Tamaulipas reports 576 residential robberies in eight months

Tamaulipas recorded 576 reports of residential robbery during the first eight months of 2026, averaging more than two cases per day. Data from investigations opened by the State Attorney General's Office shows that June saw the highest incidence with 84 reports, followed by April with 82 and March with 81.

Ciudad Victoria and Reynosa are the primary hotspots for this crime, accounting for 382 investigations combined, which represents over 66 percent of the state's total. Ciudad Victoria led the state with 201 residential robberies, while Reynosa followed with 181. Other municipalities reported lower figures, including Matamoros with 85, Tampico with 49, Mante with 45, and Nuevo Laredo with 15.
