Tamaulipas retains AAA credit rating from HR Ratings

HR Ratings has ratified a AAA credit rating with a stable outlook for the debt of the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. The agency cited disciplined public finances, transparency, and responsible governance under Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya and Finance Secretary Carlos Irán Ramírez González. Elements highlighted include strong debt‑guarantee mechanisms, fulfillment of reserve‑fund commitments and effective interest‑rate hedging, which together support long‑term budget stability.

The rating aligns with previous positive assessments from Moody’s, Fitch and other agencies, signalling confidence to domestic and international investors and bolstering the state’s ability to attract investment, generate jobs and sustain economic development.
