Tamaulipas schools and border municipalities announce schedule changes

Basic education students in Tamaulipas will have a four-day break from Friday, October 30, to Monday, November 2, due to a combination of School Technical Council sessions and the Day of the Dead holiday. While students will be out of class, teachers will participate in technical council sessions on Friday, October 30. The suspension applies to public and private preschool, primary, secondary, and special education institutions.

Additionally, ten border municipalities in Tamaulipas—including Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa, and Matamoros—will transition to winter time on Sunday, November 1. Residents in these areas must set their clocks back one hour at 2:00 a.m. to maintain synchronization with neighboring United States cities for commercial, labor, and transport activities. This time change does not apply to the rest of the state, including Tampico and Ciudad Victoria.
