Tamaulipas Showcases Artisan Furniture at Mexico City’s Los Pinos Summer Fair

The state of Tamaulipas participated in the Feria de Verano del Mueble Artesanal 2026, held at the Complejo Cultural Los Pinos in Mexico City. Artisan Don Javier Hernández from González displayed his handcrafted furniture, representing the state's tradition of handmade crafts.

Tamaulipas’s tourism secretary Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez highlighted the talent of local women and men who turn tradition into unique pieces, while Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya’s administration was praised for supporting artisan work as a cultural and economic driver. The fair, organized by the Fondo Nacional para el Fomento de las Artesanías (FONART), featured more than 40 master artisans from across Mexico, including Michoacán, Tabasco, Querétaro, Jalisco, Estado de México, Campeche, Oaxaca, Hidalgo and Zacatecas, showcasing the country’s diverse heritage.
