Tamaulipas officials, CFE and water operators meet to boost water supply

State officials in Tamaulipas held a working meeting with the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and managers of the state’s water operators (COMAPAs) to address interruptions in electricity that affect water‑pumping and treatment facilities. The session, led by Raúl Quiroga Álvarez, Secretary of Hydraulic Resources for Social Development, and Walter Julián Ángel Jiménez, Secretary of Energy Development, examined how power outages disrupt hydraulic infrastructure and reviewed coordination mechanisms to improve continuity and quality of potable‑water services across the state’s municipalities.

Participants agreed to strengthen inter‑institutional communication and adopt strategies that will make water supply more reliable and efficient for families in Tamaulipas.
