Tamaulipas students develop industrial technology solutions

Three technological projects developed by students from the Tecnológico Nacional de México (TecNM), Matamoros campus, are being implemented at the company Factory Source. These projects emerged as winners of the Industry Challenge 2026, an initiative led by the Tamaulipas Ministry of Economy and the Tamaulipas Council of Science and Technology (COTACYT).

The winning projects include “Contador Inteligente de Producción,” which took first place; “SmartMold Analytics” in second place; and “Separador de Materiales Ferrosos y No Ferrosos” in third place. The awards were presented during ExpoCiencias Tamaulipas 2026, with COTACYT providing 45,000 pesos in total economic incentives for the winners.

Ninfa Cantú Deándar, the Secretary of Economy, stated that these results demonstrate the talent of new generations and align with the state government's goal of linking education with the productive sector to strengthen innovation and economic development in Tamaulipas.
