Tamaulipas teachers protest removal of physical education coordinator

Physical education teachers in Tamaulipas occupied the offices of the State Coordination of Physical Education in Ciudad Victoria to protest the removal of coordinator Héctor José Díaz Sandoval.

Between 60 and 100 educators from various municipalities, including Matamoros, participated in the demonstration. The protesters expressed dissatisfaction with the decision made by the Tamaulipas Ministry of Education (SET), noting that the change was implemented without prior notice or public explanation. The teachers are demanding a dialogue with authorities to understand the reasons for the dismissal and are calling for the reinstatement of Díaz Sandoval.

The occupation resulted in approximately 39 administrative workers being temporarily relocated to the central offices of the SET. While the teachers maintain their goal is to seek transparency and stability within the sector, the official response from the Ministry of Education regarding the reasons for the leadership change remains pending.
