Tamaulipas to host International Energy Congress 2026

The state of Tamaulipas will host the second edition of the International Energy Congress from October 27 to 29, 2026, at Expo Tampico. The event aims to position the region as a primary hub for energy investment, production, and cooperation, attracting representatives from five countries.

Walter Julián Ángel Jiménez, the Secretary of Energy Development for Tamaulipas, described the state as the ‘energy epicenter of Mexico’ due to significant federal efforts to increase capacity and utilize primary resources. The state has announced a project portfolio valued at approximately $17 billion, featuring strategic initiatives from Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), and the private sector.

In preparation for the congress, the energy company Woodside Energy and the Secretary of Energy Development organized a breast cancer awareness race in Ciudad Madero to promote social participation and health awareness.
